What motivates volunteers? Sometimes we think we know, and other times, we’re puzzled. The Volunteer Motivation Inventory can help us learn more about our volunteers’ interests and needs. We’ll discuss ways you  can apply this information to successfully recruit and manage your volunteers.

Volunteerism Planning Committee is seeking proposals for presentations at the  2012 Ohio Annual Conference on Service and Volunteerism. Completed RFP forms are due by Thursday, May 31, 2012, 11:00 PM eastern time.  They are seeking proposals in the following topic areas:

Know a great volunteer?Consider recognizing their contributions and honoring their service by nominating them for the 2012 AARP Ohio Andrus Awards for Community Service.
Named for AARP founder Ethel Percy Andrus, the AARP Ohio Andrus Award recognizes outstanding individuals age 50-plus who make their communities better in ways consistent with AARP’s mission, vision and  commitment.
 
Vision: A society in which everyone ages with dignity and purpose and in which AARP helps people fulfill their goals and dreams.
