CAVA Cincinnati offers multiple educational opportunties for Volunteer Adminstrators, even if you are not current a member of our organization.
In addition to our monthly Skill Builders, which you might call fun-sized workshops, we also sponsor the more intensive Volunteer Management 101 twice yearly. Our series of certification classes, MVP, is presented in the Fall and Spring. From time to time throught the year, CAVA will invite professionals from around the country to speak to at one of our educational Workshops and share thier knowledge and experience in the field of Volunteer Management. We'll keep you posted on upcoming topics! | Earning Your CVAThe Council for Certification in Volunteer Adminstration is the only international professional certification in the field of volunteer resources management. Should you be interested in pursuing this cerification, CAVA can help! We'll keep you up to date on application deadlines and connect you with others who may be interested in forming a study group, including current CVA holders may be able to offer advice. Meet Sam
CAVA Certifications courses are taught by Sarah (Sam) Elliston,
Certified Volunteer Administrator. Sarah created the MVP Series while
working at the United Way. She has presented at regional and international conferences and has taught courses at NKU on the subject of volunteer management. She currently works part time as the volunteer coordinator at New Thought Unity Center and as a consultant specializing in civic engagement and nonprofit empowerment.
